Personal Consumer Issues • Excessive vet bill

We went on vacation out of the country and left our dog with a sitter at her house. Sitter on 1st day notified us that our dog puked and pooped blood. It also appeared that she pooped out a little ball according to the sitter. She took her to the emergency vet. The vet didn't find anything internally but kept her on IV fluids in the hospital portion of the clinic for 4 days administering fluids. Also gave her some meds to prevent vomiting and such. Vet was concerned she was not eating. No kidding she pooped out an object. Then last 4 days, she had her boarded there. The vet could not find the cause and said it was unknown and possibly just nerves because our dog had recent ear hematoma surgery. The sitter backtracked that it was a ball, probably a CYA move, and claimed it was a bood clot. Our vet bill came out to 3k not counting boarding. I feel like we were ripped off. I felt like the sitter jumped the gun and took her to the vet, perhaps waiting a bit since she passed the ball. And the vet kept her for obervation 4 days. We feel like we were taken. Im glad. Obviously, we are glad our dog is fine now.
