I am currently renting a single-family home from a landlord. At this stage in my life, I'm content with renting except for one issue. According to the contract, I'm responsible for lawn care. If I'm even a little late in trimming bushes, the landlord receives a warning from the HOA and then nudges me about it (which I understand). What’s really annoying is that I spend valuable time and money taking care of the lawn, essentially maintaining someone else's property.
In my area, it’s common for renters to be responsible for lawn care. However, despite this market norm, does it make sense for me to continue this responsibility? Or should I seek alternative solutions when my contract expires?
