My wife and I bank at a local credit union for all of our personal finance needs.
I have a full time salaried position but am about to begin moonlighting doing some self employed work. I am thinking about opening an online banking account to receive ACH payments from the self employment contracts. I'd like to have a checking and saving account as I intend to set aside funds in one account (savings) to hold for quarterly tax payments and then use the checking account for bill pay or transfer to our credit union account for personal and family use. I do not envision any need for paper checks or ATM use in the new account as that will all be handled through credit union.
FYI - I have a Fidelity brokerage account and am very happy with their online platform and app as well as their customer service.
So - Looking for recommendations for online options. SoFi? Fidelity CMA? Vanguard Cash Plus? More traditional bank like Chase or other?
Slightly hesitant to comingle banking and brokerage accounts.
I would love any and all thoughts, ideas, experiences, and recommendations.
