It feels weird to post this after 14 years on BH mainly focused on finances, but soon Money will not be the problem. Unless calamity/black swan hits I’ll be FI soon or already am.

I’d like to focus on the non financial aspects per Christina’s guidance and learn from others.

My concerns:
1. There is no one I know in the real world that has retired at age 50 or before, except one super frugal family member.

2. There is a danger if I don’t have some plan, work could linger on for longer than I desire. The one major milestone I’m waiting for is kids grade school being complete. 2 years and 5 years away with two kids.

3. My spouse is generally on the same page, but I think we need to focus on the non financial factors a bit more now. We both desire to retire and travel more (a great thing) however both of us retiring in the same year is something unusual. Again looking for some guidance from others here.

4. I wouldn’t mind doing a non corporate job down the road. I’m not sure how family/friends would react. Probably a good time to reassess who I wanna hang with if this becomes a problem with them.

5. Is it possible to overthink the non financial aspects? Some folks here seem to have just figured it out as they went along with retirement. I like that. I’d like to hear from others how that worked out. (Pros/cons)

I’ll stop there as the list seems to define my questions/concerns.
Again, looking to hear and learn from others on the non financial aspects we/I should focus on.
