I have several retirement accounts that I'd like to consolidate, including the following:
Current 401k: at employer through T. Rowe Price. This account has a mix of pretax contributions and Roth 401k contributions.
Rollover IRA: collection of previous 401ks rolled over to Vanguard - all pretax, I have never contributed to this directly other than rolling 401k's to it.
Traditional IRA: at Charles Schwab - for a few years, I worked at a company that did not have a 401(k) so I opened this account. I don't see myself contributing to it anymore though.
What are the possibilities around consolidating these three accounts? Obviously, I would keep my current 401(k) active until retirement or a job change. It is actually a very good plan and the fees are paid by my employer, and I have access to Vanguard's VINIX fund among others. Could I roll the traditional IRA into my 401k without any fees or penalties if my plan allows?
What about the rollover IRA? Can it be rolled into a current 401k without penalty as well? If not now, I might be interested in doing this in the future.
