In order to minimize the rat and rodent issues here in NYC our NYC Mayor has announced another of his initiatives to limit the troublesome population of rats here in the city. This latest initiative requires all homeowners and apartment owners to purchase rodent resistant containers and weaning everyone off of using black plastic bags during garbage collection days. In order to comply everyone is required to now use "covered" garbage cans during a grace period then starting in 2026 then use these new susidized garbage cans. Has anyone here had the pleasure of using OTTO branded garbage cans and if so have you experienced any issues on durability but more importantly longevity? My concern is these new cans have a habit of not lasting ....tops attached covers tend to break off due to the NYDS rough handling followed by wheels breaking off at a alarming rate. Finally are there any alternatives to using the city's sanctioned garbage cans which are more durable for long term use. Thanks much BHs!
