I have a specific question about moving from Ascensus to Fidelity. If I move now I will have to liquidate my account at Ascensus and get a check for deposit into my new Fidelity 401k. Fidelity states that it could take a couple weeks or so for the funds to actually be deposited and the paperwork processed. Ascensus states that in-kind transfer will be available in January.
Does it normally take weeks when you transfer a solo 401K, via check, for the funds to be available for investment at the new firm?
I'm not sure I want my money not invested for weeks. Should I wait till Ascensus offers in-kind transfer in January?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
