I have WBD shares from the ATT spinoff in 2022 that I am looking to sell.
I have 7 individual lots, Fidelity is showing the lot from the day of the spinoff as a wash sale. A partial share was sold during the spinoff and I then bought additional shares within the 30 days without realizing there was a sale creating a wash sale. Lesson learned…
My question is if I sell all of the lots for a loss, is the entire sale eliminated from TLH or just the individual lot that the wash sale occurred in. Total loss of $3,000 with the lot Fidelity has marked as a wash sale being a $500 loss.
