Hey ya'll,
New into the world of passive investing and wondering if you all had suggestions on how to best distribute.
Background: 35 year old male (GI ~$350k), do not own a house/no dependents/loans. CS 820. Will probably buy a house in 2026 in HCOL area after getting married next year.
Finances:
1. Every day banking balance: $75000
Retirements:
2. Traditional IRA: $50k (VTSAX), Roth: ~$100k (VTI/VUG)
3. Company Retirement Fund: ~$65k, Stock Options etc.: $50-75k (some non-vested)
4. Personal Investment: ~$1.1million.
5. Total: ~$1.36 million.
In my 'younger' days, I invested into heavily (x3) leveraged funds and did perfectly fine amounting my personal investment amounts as above. Recently cashed out and now I've got a bunch of money (I've accounted for cap gains taxes) on my hands that I'm hoping to roll into a more traditional 'set and forget' investment style.
I understand risk/reward and since I'm still in my prime earning years am not interested in strategies that involve bonds, international markets to diversify etc.
Question I raise: I seen back tests of popular low expense VG funds however most state VTI is the 'gold standard' + the two other funds as a part of the 3 bucket fund. Its hard to predict the future however I'm not risk averse and looking for something that has more risk/reward potential. Something a little spicier than VUG. Any thoughts/suggestions?
Best,
