My wife's RMDs started this year and she wanted to do it herself. She got the correct amount from her IRA into her settlement fund ( next step is exchanging it into her taxable account) but I'm not sure it was "marked" as RMD as far as Vanguard is concerned. She's going to call tomorrow but as far as the IRS is concerned, does it matter whether Vanguard lists it as RMD? Is the requirement simply that you distribute the proper amount from your IRA?
