I been wanting to go to 80/20 for a long time, but my portfolio has been at 70/30 for forever, while I wait for market to drop to shift to 80/20.
But I never did make the move. During 2020, I was too scared that covid would be different so I didn't do it. During 2022, I was too busy with life to so I didn't do it. Then there are also a few small drop here and there but I didn't feel market drop enough yet so I didn't do it.
The good thing is I did manage to stay the course at 70/30 and didn't lower it further.
The bad things is watching the market keep going up I have a major case of FOMO. Also with inflation in the news so often I'm actually worried since I'm currently retired and withdrawing 3%.
I understand asset allocation is very personal. But I'm hoping for a different perspective. Since I stayed at 70/30 for so long, maybe its what I'm comfortable with and should I just stay the course? or maybe I been thinking about 80/20 for so long that is actually the right asset allocation for me and I should just do it.
