Current allocation at Vanguard Roth IRA:
30% VBTLX
25% VTIAX
45% VTSAX
suggested allocation to include: VV, VEA, VO, VCMDX, VNQ, VB, BND, TIP, BNDX I'm not going to list the percentages but I'm going for a 60/40 stock/bond.
Hi there,
So we met with our financial planner, and I am left with some questions about the basics. I could go back and ask him, but I thought I'd try here. I know this is very basic, but I currently have 865 shares of VBTLX at 9.63 per share. The advisor suggested using BND, which is currently 73.19 per share, which would leave me with 114 shares if I made the swap. This seems like a bad idea to me, or do I just not understand? Is it really just the same thing? Would you make the switch?
