I've been using MoneyGuide almost exclusively for a few years, but am starting to explore some other products for comparison. Today as I was digging deep into the Combined Details in MG and I noticed what I "think" is an error/mis-calculation. But, it's complex software so I could easily be missing something.
My plan has my spouse and I retiring about 8 years before our oldest children begin college. What's strange is that the "earmarked" column doesn't change during the years of our retirement, and then starts drawing down the first year of college. I would expect that during the 8 years of retirement that account would increase in value, but it doesn't. It looks like it just stops - like the money is withdrawn and put in an envelope.
Am I doing something wrong?
