Any thoughts on adding a TIPS fund to my bond portfolio? Newly retired and have a 60/40 portfolio at present. Although I have never invested based on election results previously (and probably shouldn't start now), since I am retired and with all the talk of possible inflation after the election, I'm considering splitting by bond portfolio evenly (or close to it) between my bond index funds and a TIPS fund. Presently considering STIP (iShares short term TIP) and VTIP (the Vanguard version). It would go in my IRA along with the other bond funds. I've read pros and cons for investing in TIPS now so figured I would get some unbiased opinions here. Thanks for your input.
