When we have traveled internationally in Europe and the Far East the past few years, for phone connectivity, we have used the eSIM from OneSimCard on our iPhones. We were provided with an Estonian phone number and could get 4G/5G access at reasonable cost. Our AT&T regular line was disabled.
However, on our recent Costa Rica trip (wonderful) we lost some AT&T texts upon our return, after activating our regular USA phone numbers. Looking at the AT&T International plans, the costs are $12/day (half that for second phone) that are capped at $120 per billing cycle. I think it may be cost-efficient to drop our OneSim account and just use AT&T, with our regular number (and turning off the phones when sleeping so US-based callers do not interrupt our sleep). Am I missing something?
