Just wondering if there's a version of a "mostly-simple 3 fund portfolio" that minimizes dividends?
The VTI holdings in my taxable accounts pay out a non-trivial quantity of dividends (relative to my other income).
I reinvest these payouts, so they're just "unwanted taxable events" to me.
I'm guessing there's nothing to be done here and I should consider it a "good problem to have," but then I was thinking:
Berkshire Hathaway invests in dividend paying companies (eg, Apple). When Apple pays out a dividend, Berkshire Hathaway doesn't pass those dividends through to its shareholders... It "reinvests" those dividends (and hopefully uses a bunch of tax-avoidance strategies) to maximize shareholder value (without generating taxable events for them).
Can I get an ETF like that?
