I've spent a couple of hours over a couple of days, including with Apple CS.
AppleTV worked in the past (a year ago) on my two Sony Bravia smart tvs. I cancelled at that time and just tried to go back over Thanksgiving. The app is there and supposedly up to date. I click, it starts to open, then reports "Apple TV Network Unavailable". I've tried over several days, same result. It does work on my Chromebooks and Android tablets.
I've done all the CS and internet recommends with no positive results.
From internet postings it appears to be a very common and ongoing problem across several smart tv brands for many people. I've rebooted TVs, router, and other resets. Interestingly I'm unable to uninstall Apple TV to do a new install. At least I can't find that option.
All my many other tv apps work just fine (Netflix, paramount, Prime, and several more).
I really don't want to spend any more time on "homework" for a failing grade to get it to work again, but it's frustrating to have to watch on my 14 inch Chromebook instead of my 70-something inch TV.
Is there an explain like I'm 5 solution?
