Is it best to have a Visa, a Mastercard, and an Amex? Does that mix impact your credit score? I heard the Points Guy recommend this on a podcast but it's tough to validate this suggestion since credit score is quite a mystery.
I currently have 2 Visas, one from Chase and another from Capital One. Credit score is 815. I don't have a large mix of credit, just cards.
I used to have a couple retail cards over the years but they were closed by the issuer due to inactivity, and the Amex I used to have was the blue one with no annual fee, but it got closed due to inactivity as well. Quite frankly, I forgot I even had it.
