Howdo,
This morning a friend sent a link via our groupchat on whatsapp(there's only 3 of us in the group) it was for a chocolate hamper. I asked the question if it was a scam but the other friend said he'd won something, so I, stupidly, clicked on the link and gave my name and phone number, that was all, before the original sender came back saying they thought it was a scam(my fault, i know, I usually don't fall for these things but hey-ho)
I quickly looked online to see what i could do, I've immediately disconnected the phone from the internet, done a scan of it, well about 3 scans (it's a galaxy S10). Deleted all recent browsing history and cookies etc. I've uninstalled all my banking and other financial apps (paypal etc)
I've also changed my passwords of these financial systems via my computer and my google account.
When using my banking and some other financial apps on the phone I have to log on via my fingerprint as an extra layer of security rather than a security number.
I didn't provide anything more than my number and name and didn't use any other apps afterwards. Is there anything else anyone can suggest I do and when/should i reconnect my phone to the internet and reinstall my banking apps etc?
