Personal Finance (Not Investing) • 1099-Div Question: include only dividends paid/received in 2024 or those with ex-div dates in 2024?

Year-end tax question: This is the first year for filing estimated taxes. For your 1099-Div, do you include all dividends actually paid in 2024 or those dividends where the ex-dividend dates were in 2024? I have some ETFs where the ex-dividend date is in late December (12/31/2024, for example) but the pay date isn't until January 2025.

When paying estimate taxes, should you include just those actually paid in calendar year 2024? Thanks so much.
