Non-US Investing • Advice on my situation and portfolio

Hello,

Merry Christmas everyone.

This is my first post. I don’t seem to be having any luck in other forums. Mind you, I’ve only asked on Reddit.

I’m a UK expat who has been working in the Middle East since August 2022. I opened an IBKR account - it seems to be just a trading account. As far as I know, I’m not liable to pay any taxes as I’m resident in a country in the Middle East. Correct me if I’m wrong, though.

I’m quite skeptical and wondered if my portfolio and situation may require a tax accountant. My portfolio is based on information I’ve read e.g. investing in Irish domiciled ETFs to avoid certain estate tax. My job does mean I will move around but I aim to stick with a tax free country.

100% VWRP UCITS ETF (Acc)
iShares Ultrashort Bond UCITS ETF (Acc) - some of my emergency fund is in here.
Offshore bank account domiciled in the IoM
I plan to hold 1-5% of cryptocurrency, split between an ETP on IBKR (CBTC - 21Shares Bitcoin Core ETP) and self custody.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
