I have a decision to make before my Norton subscription expires in October. I'm on Windows 10 Pro, going to upgrade to Windows 11 Pro in the next few months, and have a Samsung 23+. I've always used Norton, even though I know it slows my computer down, and I have it on my phone as well. One of the things I like on my phone is that it auto-detects non-secure Wifi and puts my on a VPN (like at my gym). I don't do anything important online there, but it feels more secure.
My late husband used to make all these choices, and now I have a computer guy who seems very competent. He is recommending to use MWV Premium and Windows Defender, and just uninstall Norton. Since I am cautious it seems like this will be fine.
I haven't yet put MWB on my phone but it seems that its VPN setting will mean whenever my phone is on wifi it will be on a VPN. I don't know if this is good, bad or indifferent. FWIW, my phone is always on wifi in my house for phone calls, ever since I upgraded the phone to 5G. Will being on a VPN impact this?
Here's the MWB link for Android VPN if that helps
