So historically I have maxed out my 401K. My current mix is
10 % Bonds index
35 % Growth Index
40 % Large Cap Index
15 % Mid and Small cap Index
I only started Brokerage in 2021, after finding Boglehead and realizing that I have saved way too much cash.
I’m still figuring out what should be my right mix as liquidity my safety net (aka emergency fund)
In brokerage my mix is
40% large cap Index
50% MM index
10% Intermediate Bond. (I set this up just prior to interest rates going up)
I’m seriously questioning use of bonds in high inflation era
Should these bonds be just in MM. I’m honestly worried about 1970s like situation and Fed’s ability to control inflation without a recession.
I’m not find much reading material on investment strategies for 1970.
Can any share words of wisdom or what worked for them.
