I'm overcommitted to equities in my taxable account and want to place about 450k in CDs, Bonds, or Treasuries, possibly TIPs. I welcome advice on what is best for me. I'm 79 years old and in retirement. I want stability and cash flow. I'm thinking of a ladder that would mature in 12, 18, and 24 months. I am with Schwab.
In my IRA, I parked money in CDs with about 4.5 to 5.25 percent interest. Current rates are lower, but I can live with that.
