I am still 4-5 yrs away from retirement. Right now I am playing with software tools like BoldIn, Parlana etc. but also think it might be worth checking in with some flat fee based financial advisors. Since I haven't done this before, what is included in a typical plan that a financial advisor will provide to us? Let us say my main question is "can I retire" (based on my expenses) and I provide all my financial statements etc to the advisor. What do they provide you in return? Do they give some step by step stuff to follow? Do you have to specifically ask for tax planning help or it is included as a part of the plan? Sorry for all these rookie questions but want to be better prepared before arranging to talk with someone and spending a couple of thousand dollars.
