Is the "rounding down" $.50 a new thing? The reason I ask is that on my benefit amount, they don't seem to round down, as taxes withheld include a figure like 334.80. But DW got her award statement. The first one, on line said 3918.50, but the written letter she got lists details saying:
** " rounding (we must round down to a whole dollar". in addition to the Medicare Premium and the voluntary withholding amount. So will the SS total income be 3918.50 per month (47022.00 annually) or will it be 3918 x 12= 47,016 for the year? I know it's only six dollars, but seems weird if they pay you six dollars less, but base your SS 1099 income as the $6. higher amount.
