Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Umbrella Insurance Provider

Hello all,

I recently moved Home / Auto to a new provider. I received quotes for an Umbrella ($1MM and $2MM) and feel they are pretty expensive. Has anyone placed their umbrella with a company other than their primary insurance company? As I understand it, the umbrella is usually with the primary and kicks in after primary coverages are exhausted.
