Personal Investments • Frozen-ish SIMPLE IRA with FSKAX questions

My work currently offers a SIMPLE IRA plan, managed through Northwestern Mutual, but the funds are with Fidelity.

When they originally gave me the sign up papers, the word "Index" and "FSKAX" was nowhere to be found at all. So, I told them I wanted to use my thing where since I was within 60 days of signing up, elect to have my funds put in a government market fund so that I could transfer them to a "Frozen" SIMPLE IRA at Vanguard.

Called up Vanguard, and they wanted to see that I had funds in this account before setting it up, so I figured I'd wait till July to call Vanguard back. Hah great timing!

E-TRADE is confused as heck about my frozen SIMPLE IRA question.
Schwab doesn't support them without my employer setting up an account for everyone.
Fidelity doesn't support them.
Ascensus was extremely rude, and doesn't support them.

Okay so I log into our Fidelity portal and am just poking around and there's an option to swap funds from my Government Money Market fund to other funds. I quickly ctrl+f and type in "Index" and there's a bunch of options! No FZROX or any of the zero fee funds, but STILL.

These are all listed as options to trade to.

FFNOX - Fidelity Mult-Asset Index Fund
FNCMX - Fidelity Nasdaq Composite Index Fund
FTIHX - Fidelity Total International Index Fund
FTIGX - Fidelity Total International Index Fund - Investor Class
FTIUX - Fidelity Total International Index Fund - Institutional Class
FTIPX - Fidelity Total International Index Fund - Premium Class

FSKAX - Fidelity Total Market Index Fund
FSKTX - Fidelity Total Market Index Fund - Institutional Class
FSTMX - Fidelity Total Market Index Fund - Investor Class
FSTVX - Fidelity Total Market Index Fund - Premium Class

FXNAX - Fidelity U.S. Bond Index Fund
FXSTX - Fidelity U.S. Bond Index Fund - Institutional Class
FBIDX - Fidelity U.S. Bond Index Fund - Investor Class
FSITX - Fidelity U.S. Bond Index Fund - Premium Class

FXAIX - Fidelity 500 Index Fund
FXSIX - Fidelity 500 Index Fund - Institutional Class

Did I find some crazy loophole, of like perhaps NW Mutual not showing us index fund options when they're actually available??

I'm tempted to just pick FSKAX and call it a day. I selected $100 worth of it, clicked "add position", agreed to the terms of investing in it, and have it queued up. All I have to do now is hit "place order".

Should I just do this and then I can get on with my damn life and focus on my Roth, and just keep converting my money market fund into FSKAX whenever I'm paid?

Sorry if this is a real dumb question. :sharebeer
