Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Has the American Dental industry priced out the middle class?

It may be that I am an older gent and many times feel alarmed at what I perceive as to be a really high rate of inflation in some areas of the service economy. My # 30 molar crown fell out and I sought out help from my local Dentist. Because there was decay under that crown a root canal and a new crown would be a solution. 3 thousand plus. An implant was offered @ 6 thousand that may last longer." MAY ". That's a tooth that probably incurred 5/6 k over the years to maintained. I've read about the expense of how much a Dental education costs so maybe it makes sense. I've researched dental insurance as best I can and it seems that its a wash in the end. Has the Dental business for the middle class become a luxury?
