Only in the last year did I discover portfoliovisualizer.com through posts here at bogleheads. I found it to be a wonderful tool for illustrating the long value of index investing over high fee active investing. Also, I found it very insightful using hypotheticals to explore the long term pros and cons of portfolios that leaned heavily bond or stock.
Unfortunately, it now seems that Portfolio Visualizer now only lets fee uses like myself go back only 10 years in history, thus negating its primary value to me. Does anyone know of free tools similar to Portfolio Visualizer that let you go much further back in time to do hypotheticals? I've run my own dynamic spreadsheets using data from Vanguard on their index funds, but it was just so much easier (and up to date) using PV.
