I currently have a Vanguard individual account that, for asset protection reasons, I want to classify it as Tenants by Entirety (TBE). After speaking to a Vanguard representative, he recommended I create a new joint brokerage account and then classify it then.
However, when I created a new joint account I was only given two options: Tenants in common and Joint tenants with right of survivorship (JTRS). It's my understanding that TBE is better for protection from creditors than JTRS. Is there something I'm not doing right to select TBE or does Vanguard not offer it?
And if not, are there other brokerages that offer TBE for their accounts?
