I have a situation where I insure 5 drivers (3 of which are college students). While we have all maintained very clean driving records, the past 10 months have proven to be an issue. Three of the drivers, myself (father) and two of the college students have been in minor traffic accidents. As such, I am being told that our insurance will most likely not be renewed this fall. As it stands, we were paying nearly $10K to inure all of us, and that we can expect to pay between $15K and $20K wherever we end up in the future.
In the latest incident (the 3rd one), my daughter tapped a car in front of her. I was out of town, so they exchanged insurance, and the claim has been filed by the other driver. We didn't have an opportunity to even consider filing it outside of insurance. Now the question: I was not going to fix my daughters minor cosmetic damages (actually she would pay the deductible)...but since we are going to be dropped anyway...should we just go ahead and get her car fixed, as well???
