With the help of some knowledgeable Bogleheads and much research, I was recently able to rework my personal portfolio and incorporate some inherited accounts to match my risk tolerance and asset allocations. I did contact my local Schwab rep for a quick meeting several months ago, we had a nice conversation about my portfolio and goals (emphasizing my desire to self-direct), and we went on our way. Now I’m getting a follow up pitch to use the Schwab services with a call every couple of weeks. Ugh. I’m where I want to be, it’s a simple portfolio, and this has been talked about with the rep.
This is probably more of a rant than an ask for opinions, but I moved to Schwab because they had a local office. Now I’m thinking I really don’t need a local rep, and probably prefer not to have one… it’s just annoying.
