Personal Investments • Is A Three Bucket Really A Two Bucket

By that I mean:

1. "Foreigners" own about 40% of the US stock market.

2. The US stock market accounts for about 60% of the worlds stocks

3. Americans own about 16% of foreign stock markets

4. And the BIG concluding factor is; most companies in the S&P 500 are multi-national corporations. While listed as domiciled int he US, only 60% of their revenue comes from it.

So is a broad based index fund like VOO, really actually a two-bucket global portfolio that has companies making 60% of their profits from the US and 40% from international business, while overseas investors sink so much of their portfolios into US stocks that 40% of our own market is their money? And with 195 countries on planet early, ONE of them represents 60% of the earths stock markets, and its one in the same as above.

So why would we still promote three buckets?

When all the above script flips, we'll be so screwed that the only bucket that matters is the one we're using to draw water with.

What am I missing?
