Personal Investments • Forced Retirement at 55 w/a Pension and can't contribute to my 401k

My husband was forced to retire at age 55 (his current age). He has a pension and a 401k (approx $500k) that he can no longer contribute to. If he does not have to touch the income from the 401k what would be the best thing to role over into and avoid all tax implications?
We learned about a Fixed Indexed Annuity thru Allianz (product name is Allianz Benefit Control Annuity) with a Tax Plan Type (IRA - Traditional (408 (b)).

Would like to know the Benefits of using this type of product or if there are better options out there that are more profitable with little risk in the market place?

Thanks for your shares.
