Hello, my first post here. I have a few questions.
I have a Roth IRA with Capital Group with around 80k in it. My Uncle is a financial advisor and he is who set me up with it 8 years ago. My girlfriend and I have been really reading up on investing lately and my ERs in the American Funds are 1.3-1.5%. I know over the course of my life these ERs will really take away a decent amount of my money over 30 years.
So I have decided to pull the plug now.
My questions:
Does anyone know if I can just sell the American funds in my Roth but not actually cash them out and have the balance just sit in the account so I can just roll over the balance to a Fidelity Roth and be free to use that money to buy indexes in Fidelity? Instead of transferring the funds over to fidelity and still pay the silly ERs?
I want to fully rid myself of these funds if possible. Your advice is highly appreciated.
Thanks!
