We purchased an older Georgian style home in a big city in the Midwest. We are currently doing extensive renovations and planning for more. One thing that has come up is there is only one full bath. There is a shower in the basement and a powder room on the main level with a full bath on the 3 bedroom 2nd level. Another bathroom could be made in the master by eliminating 2 closets and the hallway between them. There is also a window at the end of the hallway. This would total around 8x8...so not a big bathroom, but enough for a smaller full bath (shower only).
This would require removing 2 closets and one window from the master (not literally removing but the window would be in the bathroom). I don't think this is an issue as the master has 3 other windows. The master has one cedar walk in closet in addition to these two closets that would be removed and it is maybe 6x6.
My question is, and I don't know the cost to add this...though it is butting up to the other bathroom that will be redone....is it worth it to add another bathroom?
There are only two of us. But I just think we are spending a lot to upgrade this home in all areas and I think for resale only having one bathroom on the bedroom level will really affect it.
