Personal Consumer Issues • Minneapolis Airport

What to do to enjoy my time there?

Single healthy older woman. I rarely drink, and don’t drink when traveling but I don’t care if other people do.

I’ve got a daytime flight in the US with one layover in Minneapolis (Terminal 1, Lindbergh) both ways. The layover is 3 ½ hours one way and 1 ½ hours the other way. The gates are typically diagonally across the airport from each other. I’ve taken the same trip several times a year for years.

The airline is Delta, which is the only airline that works for both legs of the trips.

I had a Delta Sky Club Membership for years and liked to go there, nibble a bit, and have the security of a gate agent in case I needed one (which I didn’t.) But this year I basically got dumped - they now require airline status to join, and I fell just short of their mark this year.

I would like to have such a good time that I don’t think about getting dumped or even think about going back to purchasing a Sky Club membership even when I do hit the required status.

Advice? Restaurants/cafés especially with good breakfasts and lunches? (I used to like the French Meadow cafe but it isn't there anymore.) Interesting stores? Good clothing or other stores? Good bookstores? Good places to sit and relax with a newspaper or book or just for looking out the window? Music? Chiroports or similar? Other ideas?

Thanks!
