I've had the same Apple email address back when it was @me.com and then it got merged into @iCloud.com. If you send an email to either @me or @iCloud, they both go to the same inbox.
I don't really use this email for anything, other than my iCloud account, but recently I've been getting hundreds of spam/phishing emails every day. If you look at the headers the emails are being sent to the old @me.com address. I am not aware of a way to delete the @me.com address from my iCloud profile.
Luckily the spam filter catches most of them, but it's pretty annoying and a little concerning since the email is my full name.
Does anyone know of a way to stop getting emails to a very old @me.com address? I used to get a ton of emails in my Gmail spam folder (I use Gmail for everything) but it suddenly stopped. Is there some new technology that Google uses that Apple isn't which would cause all of these spam messages not to be rejected by the servers?
