Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Chase Sapphire Preferred (or Reserve) as primary card? Is paying more for insurance benefits worth it?

I have Bank of America preferred rewards and upgraded to the Premium Rewards Elite card this year, from the regular travel card. The cash back is nice, but it's a lot of hoops to jump through to get the $300 incidental credit (use it for United Travel Bank purchases), and the insurance benefits aren't as good as what Chase offers (namely only $2,500 in trip cancellation vs. $10,000 for the CSP).

I was thinking of getting the CSP or CSR. For $95/year the CSP has primary rental coverage and seemingly excellent travel insurance - at least on paper.

1. How valuable is primary rental coverage? Any time I rent a car, the damage waiver through the rental agency almost doubles the cost of the rental so it seems like it's a worthwhile benefit.

2. Is the Chase travel insurance any good, or is it going to be delay and deny until you get so tired of trying you give up?

3. I'm not into transferring miles, so is using it for 1.25 points on the Chase travel portal a decent redemption?
