In this scenario, a person is employed and covered by their employers high deductible health insurance and makes HSA contributions. The year the person turns 65, they enroll in free Medicare Part A, not knowing it will affect their ability to continue contributions to their HSA. Once enrolled in free Medicare Part A, is it possible to stop it in order to continue making HSA contributions? If so, what must be done?
