Okay BHs - I am now 1.5 years out to 65 and Medicare - here is my situation:
Currently working - 250k/yr
filing single
Ca, VHCOL
Everything in FID other than small positions in checking for Brick and mortar presence
Annual savings - Max tdef 401k plus company match = 30.5k me plus 15k company, 4850 to HSA
Big picture - all current assets 2.1 M, plus anticipated inheritance within next 5 years (600k)
Taxable
60k - mmf/ CA muni fund
HsA 22k - Fidelity zero total stock market and nividia stock - no intent to use until / if I need
HSA 2 k mmf - optum - continue to contribute to 64
Roth Fidelity
130k - individual stocks plus s&p 500 Mutual fund - slowly unwinding until just index
Rollover IRA - Fidelity - Cd ladder 40k -fid international 100k, total market 450k, bond fund -130k
Deferred comp - 550k - v*life strategy growth 350k, fixed income at 6% 200k- will pay out years 1 through 7 post retirement
Ss strategy - claim at 70, ~4600/mo. RMD 75
Inheritance - likely at 600k in next 1 to 5 years
401k 480k, vanguard total market 80%, bond 20% - continuing to contribute.
Fidelity personal annuity 32k, total market fund - keep for now til need
Comfortable with 70/30 allocation - I didn’t sell in 2000/2008/2020, but as I get closer to retirement I am more uncomfortable with market gyrations. I like the idea of having 2 to 3 years of expenses in stable income, but I think my def comp at retirement and SS at 70 supports this.
no debt, but I rent. Desired expenses including taxes after retirement 120k - this includes big discretionary travel, gifting, good life - I could cut in half if needed. I like variable withdrawal mentality / approach.
I think I am good to retire at 65 - what do you think?
