Personal Consumer Issues • At home wifi coverage

What is the best course of action to take with poor wifi coverage at home? We have an on going issue with no wifi in one room in our home. It may be due to the router's location (main floor in living room, and room not covered is upstairs, other side of house).

We pay for a very high speed internet, and we purchased the wifi extender pods from the internet company for $200 I believe. They claimed this would expand the wifi signal throughout the home and even outside, so our problems would be solved. Not the case.

All this after multiple years of calls, troubleshooting, tech visits, cable wire replacements, router upgrades, etc. Last tech recommended we buy a mesh router from Amazon, Eero 6, I believe. But I feel like this is just another expense that we shouldn't have to commit to, to try to fix a problem that the company we pay should solve on their own. We rent the company router just so they cannot blame any third party equipment for problems but it seems to not help this situation.

I had a tech coming today 4-6pm but he/she did not show up. Thanks.
