Seemingly the only difference between a Roth conversion and a straight traditional IRA withdrawal (besides the 10% penalty before 59.5) is that the conversion allows for the money to go into the Roth avoiding the annual contribution limits?

The goal would be to use TIRA funds sooner than later in one’s early 50’s, and not wait 5 years after conversion.
