I met with a Fidelity advisor (no fee) to consolidate more of my holdings and simplify. They were not pushy and understood I was not looking for advice. My portfolio is 60/40 with index funds. Without asking they offered a bonus of $1000/million for funds moved to Fidelity. They said they do not give away free TurboTax. Maybe that is branch specific . Small beans compared to a couple thousand dollar bonus.
Taxable mutual fund will transfer with no tax consequence. Since it is not a Fidelity fund there is a fee to purchase additional shares but no fee to sell or reinvest dividends. My Roth IRA I plan to exchange/buy into a Fidelity total stock market fund again with no tax consequence.
Is there a plus or minus to go with their ZERO total stock market fund? Same question regarding ETF v mutual fund?
Thanks!
