Personal Finance (Not Investing) • [US Bank Investment Corp IRA incoming transfer fee]

I have more than $100k in Roth IRA all in VTI in Merrill Edge what I want to do an in-kind transfer over. On the phone, the rep from US Bank Investment Corp said I could open an self-directed IRA on their investment side online for free, but USBI charges $75 to do an in-kind partial transfer.

Did anyone get the same information? Is this something every brokerage does or just USBI?

Is there a way for me to avoid this?
