Investing - Theory, News & General • Am I misunderstanding VTI dividend timing in some fundamental way or are brokerages merely sloppy?

Looking at VTI (per https://personal1.vanguard.com/pdf/PIDIVDAT_2024.pdf ), Vanguard says:

2024 RECORD DATE: 12/23/24
2024 REINVEST AND/OR EX-DIVIDEND DATE: 12/23/24
2024 PAYABLE DATE: 12/26/24

Based on past experience I fully expect to see my dividend on 12/26 and I expect said income to appear on my 2024 1099s. Looking at the cute litle graphs of projected investment income on multiple brokers, however, they have the 4Q2024 VTI dividend marked as occurring in January 2025.

Is that January prediction simply wrong? My assumption is mostly that the brokerages are being unusually sloppy here (and VTI does often have a payable date that falls in the next quarter), but if something more subtle is happening I am always prepared to learn something!
