We have 0.75 acres. Around 18k sqft of lawn. And I’m having trouble with weeds.
I’ve tried the Scott’s 4 season purple/yellow/green/red plan, tried 2-4-D spot treatments, round up kills weeds but not grass treatments, nothing seems to really work. Yes some weeds are gone but it seems to all barely make a dent. And spreading and spraying this huge (for me, coming last year from 0.15 acres) is a chore. Honestly, our lot is “woodsy” so I don’t need a magazine worthy lawn, but it’s frustrating that putting down this DIY crap never seems to really do anything.
I’m thinking hard about just hiring this out, but worry it’s going to cost a fortune. Have even considered just doing the front yard or something and worrying about the back myself. But then I dunno, I would like the back to be a bit better too especially near the house.
Anyone else feel the same about DIY lawn fertilizers?
