Has anyone had direct experience with a BCBS Medigap Blue-to-Blue switcheroo? Can you really, without underwriting, switch from Plan G-HD to Plan G? Or, as I suspect, can you only downgrade? (This is for North Carolina, if that makes a difference) Yeah, I would call Blue Cross and ask but I'm not ready to have agents calling/harassing me.
This is from the bcbsnc.com website (it appears as a popup, I couldn't find a webpage at bcbsnc with this info):

"Blue-to-Blue gives every Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) Medicare Supplement member the freedom to switch from one of our current Medicare Supplement plans to another – no underwriting required.* Members can switch plans at designated times throughout the year. If you are a Medicare Advantage member with us, you also can use our Blue-to-Blue rules to enroll into a Medicare Supplement plan without underwriting. So, current members can always be sure to have the Medicare Supplement plan that best suits their needs and budget.
* Certain limits apply. You may only switch plans at designated times during the year."
