Hi All,
Members in our household are experiencing symptoms related to mold exposure. Our next step is for our house to undergo a mold inspection and testing that will be done early next week. I am expecting the inspector to find mold somewhere in the house, due to the severity of symptoms, and following that inspection I expect some need for abatement
Has any one gone through this in their home? Looking for thoughts advice on the process, costs, finding the right abatement company and any issues you have run into. I am trying to get ahead of this as fast as I can.

- the inspection will include indoor and outdoor assessment, measuring for dampness behind the walls and doing swabs and air capture tests. Anything else that I should be doing or should be aware of?
- For abatement, it doesn't look like my insurance would cover it (according to their website), but has anyone had success in having their insurance company cover the abatement?
- The insurance company does have a program for authorized abatement service that they state will be cheaper due to negotiated rates, has any one gone this route?
- anything to watch out for when trying to pick the right abatement company?
- I don't know the extent of the mold damage, so hard to wrap my head around costs, but if you have gone through it, would be interested in hearing about the scope of the abatement and the cost if you are willing to share
- Can abatement be done in the winter (I am in Massachusetts) or do I have to wait until the spring?
- Anything else I am not thinking of?
